Currently there are several types of baby pillows that are available in the market which help one wonder about its function in the life of a toddler. There are many pillows that merely serve the purpose of just a regular baby pillow, whereas there are many others still that serve as the infants first best friends, owing to the ease and comfort they give them. Have you ever wondered about what your definition of a good friend is? This editorial focuses on the significance of a baby pillow in your baby’s life, and how important they are to your baby owing to their numerous advantages to them.
One of the very first benefits that become evident in the very early stages in your baby’s life are that the baby pillows help in the formation of the shape of the baby’s head and make sure that the head of the baby does not become either deformed or too flat. The right kinds of pillows that are employed for this purpose are widely available in the market.Actually they aid to tuck the baby in the crib safely, ensuring that the baby does not fall in case of any movement made by them.
Other than that they provide relief to the baby, say when he is suffering from a cold and consequently a clogged nose and is having difficulty in breathing, in that case the baby pillows are used to elevate the head in order to ensure easier breathing. Apart from that they baby pillows can also be used as tummy tuckers whilst the baby is on the floor or even as a nursing pillow when you are feeding them. Many baby pillows also provide comfort to the baby when he is in a car. Further still it does not hurt at all if the baby pillow is available in bright colors which attract the attention of the young ones even more.
Having taken a look at all these advantages it is not so strange that the babies may develop considerable attachment to their baby pillows. A symbol of this attachment is evident from the fact that many parents tend to personalize your baby pillow that you used as a baby and give it to you when you are much older. It is often also used as a personalized baby pillow that s handed down you’re your parents to you, which you can give to your own baby someday.

The purpose of the baby pillow is to comfort and not to secure the baby in the crib. This gives you a chance to explore various creative options while making the gift.
The latest and most popular way to accessorize and personalize a baby pillow is by getting the photo of the baby printed on it. This can be done by logging onto the net and choosing from the various online printing services on offer. It is an extremely original idea that you can toy with on a baby pillow.

It can be dangerous to use a pillow with a child under the age of two. Using a pillow with a baby increases the risk of suffocation. If a baby should end up with his face in a pillow he is not able to turn away from or push away the pillow. A baby under the age of two may roll over face down on a pillow and not be able to roll back over. If a caregiver is not around when a baby rolls over into a pillow, the results can be tragic.

Choosing the right pillow can be tricky because of the wide range of pillows available. However, choosing the right baby pillow will be easy with the help of this guide.
First, how old is the child? Sleeping with a pillow is a suffocation risk for babies under two years old. Decorative pillows or nursing pillows are better gifts for babies under the age of two. However, if the child is past their second birthday, then a sleeping pillow is a safe gift for them.

Because even if your 1 to 4 year old gets around well, there is still a risk of him or her being smothered by a larger pillow.
So of course shopping for the right type of baby pillow for your baby is very important. As well as being a bit dangerous, grown up sized pillows are just plain uncomfortable for a baby or small child. A baby pillow, though, is perfectly proportioned to a young child’s head and neck. With toddler sized dimensions, only twelve inches by sixteen inches, a baby pillow supports your child in just the same way an adult pillow supports an adult, but geared towards the angles and dimensions which are comfortable for a baby.

We did not even think about baby pillows and blankets. She happily slept snugly in a sleep sack and pajamas. The sleep sack prevented her from crawling out of the crib, because she couldn’t swing her legs up. She was so happy in the crib, I don’t think she would have even if she was not wearing one. It was an easy transition when we moved her to a big bed.

If buying a pillow off the shelf does not appeal to you, you can also personalize a baby pillow. For instance, have a pillow embroidered with a poem that is meaningful to the parents, or that expresses your hopes for the child. Or commission a pillow to be printed with a photograph of the baby’s grandparents. If you have artistic skills, you can even buy a plain baby pillow and a blank pillowcase, and paint or cross stitch a unique design.
A nursing pillow is large and shaped like a horseshoe, and the mother rests it in her lap to hold the baby up so that she does not have to support the baby in her arms when she nurses.

Exclusive of such facts, nowadays medical practitioners are actually advising on the usage of baby pillows especially when your baby is suffering from a cold, as it elevates their head which allows trouble free breathing.
Mostly the good points of the pillows are ignored. The other side of the picture is being highlighted for your benefit After the birth of a baby a plaint skull is common If the head is continuously kept in a solitary position whilst sleeping, the chances of a malformed or asymmetrical skull increase manifold. Also the continuous sleeping on the back can trigger a depression in the rear of the skull. The usage of a baby pillow allows for the prevention of these deformities as it holds up the head in a proper angle.

If you still wish to introduce a baby sleep pillow even while you are using a crib, go for one that is small and firm.
If you are offering a pillow to your child for the first time, pick baby sleep pillows made for the purpose; do not use a spare adult pillow. You may want to try a baby pillow that is the size of a travel pillow. Remember that babies have tender heads that needs good protection. Avoid using feather pillows since these are too pliable to be of any value and may sometimes even cause allergies in a vulnerable child.

Not all toddlers view a pillow for just sleeping. Pillows can provide a sense of security more than comfort for a toddler. The soft plush feeling of a pillow makes it super cuddly and huggable. The cuddly feeling when hugging a pillow may help a toddler feel more secure when a caregiver is not around. Toddlers may lay down on a pillow or hug a pillow to them when they are sleeping.

One traditional option for a baby pillow is to include the full name of an infant and details about his or her birth, such as height, weight, and birthday. Another idea is to find a meaningful quote or verse. Writing initials on the baby pillow in an elegant font is also a classic choice. Sometimes little ones in military families have a stuffed object with a photo of their deployed parent. You could also have the big brother or sister create a special piece of artwork for the baby pillow.
