However most doctors recommend the use of baby pillows after the baby attains the age of one year. Your baby may also start giving indications that he or she requires a pillow. These signs could include using a bed sheet or a favorite stuffed toy as a head rest, a clear indication that the time to buy a good baby pillow has come.

During my early first trimester, I agonized over what I may have eaten before I knew I was pregnant or whether I worked out too hard and raised my temperature too much for the baby. To save my sanity, I decided to put away all the pregnancy books a couple months in, so I would stop reading about everything that could happen. After I put the books away, I found that I enjoyed my pregnancy a lot more. My husband still laughs about something I said during my first trimester. It was something along the lines of not worrying ever again once the baby is born.

Nowadays, there are so many different types of baby pillows out there. They all have some unique function, and I actually think some of them are legitimate! There are baby pillows that position the head and body of the baby while they are sleeping, there are baby pillows that are specifically designed for nursing, and there are even baby pillows designed to position a baby while they are riding in the car, just to name a few.
I think the bassinette pillows on the market today are great. These types of baby pillows position baby so that he or she is flat on their back, which is what is recommended. However, there are new versions of these types of pillows that I like even better.

Baby sleep pillows are generally not recommended for kids under two. Children below that age may even suffocate while using an inappropriately designed baby pillow. If, from your experience, you feel it is the right time to introduce a baby sleep pillow, it is a good idea to do so once your toddler moves from a crib to a bed. It is around this time that your child begins to support himself on his feet, a pillow may aid in climbing or crawling out of the crib! But you may want to try one even in a crib; just ensure it is compact and not too soft.
If you are offering a pillow to your child for the first time, pick baby sleep pillows made for the purpose; do not use a spare adult pillow.

This is because sometimes the baby can become more susceptible to developing allergies when exposed to feathers at so early an age. The extra softness of these pillows can actually cause the baby to suffocate if their head sinks too far down into the pillow.
The best baby pillows are those made out of memory foam products. There is no danger of suffocation when a good supportive baby pillow is used.

They are great for the baby to lean their head on for extra support, especially because they will most likely fall asleep. I really like them because they keep baby’s head away from the hard plastic on the car seat. Most car seats come with a pillow, but I prefer to purchase a separate one. The ones included with the seat just are not quite as cushy as one that you can pick out yourself.
Baby pillows are great for so many uses.

Baby pillows are required for babies to provide them comfort and to avoid flat head syndrome. Flat head syndrome is also known as Plagiocephaly and it is caused because of improper positioning of baby head when it is sleeping. When you will place your baby on a pillow his ears should be covered in the pillow and this avoids ear infections in them. Foam that is used as fillings of baby pillows give evenly pressure to all points of the head.

Some baby sleep pillows have been recalled due to safety concerns.
The baby sleep pillows are just fine for children over two. Young children like to get baby sleep pillows for a gift. Some kids really like to carry them around as a security item.
These pillows are not like the ones adults and older children use.
