If you are in the market for a practical gift for a baby you know, a baby pillow is an excellent choice. Because there are so many types of pillows in the stores, it can be tough to pick out the right one. However, choosing the right baby pillow will be easy with the help of this guide.
The first consideration is the baby’s age. Sleeping with a pillow is a suffocation risk for babies under two years old. Decorative pillows or nursing pillows are better gifts for babies under the age of two. However, if the child is past their second birthday, then a sleeping pillow is a safe gift for them.
Decorative pillows are available in almost every size, shape, and color to match any decor. You can also have a baby pillow customized. For instance, have a pillow embroidered with a poem that is meaningful to the parents, or that expresses your hopes for the child. Or have the pillow printed with a photo of a beloved pet. If you are crafty, you can even buy a baby pillow blank and sew your own cover to create a truly special pillow.
Nursing pillows are large, U shaped pillows that the mother arranges in her lap to provide extra support for the baby while she nurses. (Fathers can use them when bottle feeding, too!) The main brand is Boppy, so nursing pillows are often called boppies, but there are a number of competing brands on the market as well.
A baby pillow that is designed for nighttime is smaller and flatter than an adult’s pillow. Children do not need as much support as adults do, so an adult sized pillow can give them neck cramps and disturb their sleep. Pillow fillings that adults find comfortable, like feathers and down, can trigger allergies in children, so you should avoid them. Choose a baby pillow that is half the size and thickness of an adult’s pillow or less, with hypoallergenic stuffing and a smooth, soft cover. As a final touch, add pillowcases printed with the child’s favorite animal or cartoon character.
When you are done picking out a baby pillow, you will have a superb gift that the child and their parents are sure to treasure. You can be certain that you have not only given the child a practical gift, you have made it easier for them to sleep.

Kids that small can easily suffocate while using one. In general, it’s best to wait until your child moves from a crib to the bed before introducing a pillow.
Having said that, if a blocked nose is keeping your baby up during nights, one way to help it through this is to elevate the baby’s head while sleeping, gravity helps in draining sinus. Now, that’s not the only way to drain sinus but it is one. This can also be achieved without a pillow though as there are various other methods as well.

You can also wash the pillows which have high quality and it will not damage the foam or external cover. This makes these pillows very durable and even if they are expensive then at least you know that you are not going change it frequently.
Baby pillows are available in various designs, prints, colors and sizes. You can buy any pillow which is perfect for your baby; however for the selection of size you should be very careful. It is better to select a pillow size which is large enough so that a baby can roll over it.

If you are pregnant and anxiously awaiting the birth of your new baby, you more than likely have also been waiting for months and months to lavish your precious infant with all kinds of cute and cuddly welcome home gifts. You literally have an endless selection available to you, in a wide variety of stores. You have so much to choose from in adorable looking stuffed animals, and of course the perfect baby pillow you would like to purchase for their bed. It must be ok to buy pillows for babies, since so many of your favorite stores carry them, right? Unfortunately, this is not the case. Putting a baby pillow in with your newborn, is not ok, and it could even cause harm or death if you chose to do so.

Pillows can provide a sense of security more than comfort for a toddler. Toddlers may prefer to hug a pillow because it is soft and springy. The cuddly feeling when hugging a pillow may help a toddler feel more secure when a caregiver is not around. Toddlers may lay down on a pillow or hug a pillow to them when they are sleeping. Toddlers may grab any pillow they see and curl up with it to sleep.

This is even more so the case for brand new parents. It may cross your mind that you will have to make some purchases in order to make the new baby comfortable. Besides the obvious like diapers, a crib and bottle, there are other more elusive items that could ease your way into parenthood. One such helper is the baby pillow.
There is more than one type of baby pillow, and not all are created equal.
